ATVs

The quad bikes were purchased in early 2021 and replaced the previous can-am ATVs.

The quads are used to scout the large area of sand and mud that can be found within our operational area. They are primarily used to search the coastline, and can easily cross the sand dunes, gullies and pinewoods. The bikes carry a range of equipment for SAR taskings and training exercises, including self-recovery equipment and casualty care gear.

They can also be used as rapid response vehicles, with our crew able to arrive on scene quickly to assess the situation and offer assistance before other rescue resources can arrive.
