As many of you know, our boathouse was broken in to on Boxing day and our two Honda ATVís, including all of the kit they carry, were stolen. Whilst we have not been without quad cover, it has taken our volunteers some time to source and fit all of the kit to the replacement quads.
The Southport Lifeboat would like to thank Senior Coxswain, Keith Porter and Trustee Bob Forshaw for making their personal quads available for emergency use during the five weeks whilst the replacement quads were on order. We extended these thanks to all of the individuals and organisations who kindly offered the use of their quads.
We offer our thanks to the following organisations for their kind donations towards upgrading the lifeboat house security, and paying for replacement kit for the new quads.
TD Welding (Southport) for repairing and providing increased boathouse door security.
P. Bradshaw ISS Ltd for installing a new boathouse security system.
PWG Ltd for providing GPS trackers and support services for the quads
Rotary Clubs of Southport for their financial contribution towards the new security arrangements.
Southport Hesketh Round Table for helping with funds for new Raymarine GPS chart plotters and Storage boxes for the quads.
Icom UK Ltd and Seavoice Training for each supplying a new Icom radio set for the quads.
The new quads have already been used on a recent call out.
We thank everyone for their continued support to our cause. Hopefully with the break in behind us we can crack on with working towards the goal of a new lifeboat house.
